March 5, 2019 — The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP), owners of FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, Mich., today joined casino leadership and announced payments related to its 2018 business performance, establishing its fourth consecutive new annual record, with combined payments of over $24.2 million to the State of Michigan and the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board (FLRSB).

Leaders of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, owners of The Fire Hub and FireKeepers Casino Hotel joined tribal and community members today to announce that construction will soon start on a greenhouse, which will grow vegetables with the goal of delivering a free salad bar to area school students. The greenhouse will be constructed on tribal lands at the Pine Creek Indian Reservation, with a goal of offering the NHBP membership and Athens school students the opportunity to be the first beneficiaries of the produce.
