FIREKEEPERS CASINO HOTEL SPREADS HOLIDAY CHEER THROUGH COMMUNITY GIVING
(Battle Creek, Mich.) Dec. 14, 2023 — Amid economic challenges, FireKeepers Casino heightened its commitment to giving back to the community by hosting events aimed at supporting those in need during the holiday season.
On Thanksgiving Day, FireKeepers Casino continued its tradition of distributing tasty turkey dinners with all the trimmings to almost 750 neighbors in need in the Battle Creek community. The event, held at Battle Creek Central High School, saw an outpouring of support and generosity. This annual tradition is a heartfelt gesture from FireKeepers Casino to express gratitude and solidarity with our local community.
Building on the success of the Thanksgiving event, FireKeepers then geared up for the Annual Holiday Toy and Food Distribution, a festive occasion dedicated to spreading joy among children and families in need. This event, hosted at the Kellogg Arena on December 11, featured the distribution of over 2,000 new toys donated by FireKeepers team members and patrons. Additionally, FireKeepers has purchased fresh food boxes from the South Michigan Food Bank, and 300 Turkeys to ensure that families in need have a bountiful holiday meal.
FireKeepers Casino employee volunteers play a key role in ensuring the success of the distribution events. Their dedication and enthusiasm reflect the FireKeepers’ deep-rooted belief in the power of community and the joy that comes from making a positive impact on the lives of others.
"We are proud to be a part of the Battle Creek community, and these events are a small way for us to express our gratitude and spread holiday cheer," said Frank Tecumseh, CEO at FireKeepers. "Especially during these challenging times, it's important for us to come together and support one another. We hope these events bring smiles to the faces of our neighbors and create lasting memories for the entire community."
