FIREKEEPERS CASINO HOTEL NAMES LONG TIME EXECUTIVE AND COMMUNITY LEADER KATHY GEORGE AS NEW CEO

(Battle Creek, Mich.) May 15, 2017 – Kathy George, who has served as General Manager and Vice President of Hotel Operations for more than 5 years, has been named as CEO of FireKeepers Casino Hotel, announced Jamie Stuck, Tribal Council Chairperson of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi.

George began her career with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, spending 13 years in all areas of the hotel operations, including seven years as a General Manager. She spent more than four years in New York with the Seneca Gaming Corporation owned and operated by the Seneca Nation of Indians, where she served in several management roles including General Manager for the Casino and Hotel at Seneca Niagara as well as their Buffalo Creek Casino.

With her ever-present smile and keen eye for ensuring excellent customer satisfaction, George has overseen every aspect of FireKeepers Casino Hotel operations from its very beginning, including everything from construction of the 243 room hotel to building the team of well-trained staff who would go on to see FireKeepers Casino Hotel earn the coveted AAA Four Diamond rating. In addition to hotel operations, George also led the sales and catering, environmental services, and retail departments, as well as the Quality Inn & Suites next to the casino.

Her commitment to service is not exclusive to her work, she is also very active in the local community. She sits on the Board of Directors for the Calhoun County Visitors Bureau, plays a large role in raising funds for S.A.F.E. Place, the area’s domestic violence shelter, and has served as the Tournament Director for the FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship, a stop on the Symetra Tour – Road to The LPGA.
