(Battle Creek, MI.) Dec. 6, 2018 - FireKeepers Casino Hotel will welcome cranky comedian Lewis Black to the event center stage on Friday, March 1, 2019.  Black uses his trademark style of comedic yelling and animated finger-pointing to skewer anything and anyone that gets under his skin. His comedic brilliance lies in his ability to make people laugh at the absurdities of life, with topics that include current events, social media, politics and anything else that exposes the hypocrisy and madness he sees in the world.

Born in Washington D.C. on Aug. 30, 1948, Black was raised in Silver Spring, Md. Colicky as a baby, he was destined to be angry and easily irritated. His mother, a teacher, and his father, a mechanical engineer, instilled the importance of education and the necessity to question authority—lessons that influenced Black throughout his life.

Black has become a Comedy Central staple, both on his own show, Lewis Black's Root of All Evil, and on The Daily Show.  Black has also appeared on “Larry King Live,” “Piers Morgan Tonight,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” “The Late Show with David Letterman,” “Late Night with Conan O’ Brian” and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He has filmed two specials for HBO, penned more than 40 plays and authored three best-selling books. Black has earned two Grammys® and an Emmy® award for his work.

“Expect the unexpected when Lewis Black hits the stage,” stated Jim Wise, FireKeepers VP of Marketing. “With quick wit and impassioned rants, Black will have the audience hooked from beginning to end.”

Despite all of the ranting, Black’s blood pressure is fine and he takes no blood pressure medicine!  He is likely going to let his emotions out on stage.

Tickets for Lewis Black go on sale Saturday, Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. and start at $39. Purchases can be made at firekeeperscasino.com or at the box office located inside the FireKeepers Casino Hotel lobby.
