FireKeepers Casino Hotel Celebrates Six Successful Years of Operation
FireKeepers Casino Hotel will be celebrating six years of successful operation on Wednesday, August 5. Join us at 12 p.m. in Kabaret Lounge to help us celebrate with a special presentation and cake cutting. We are also celebrating our 6th Anniversary with a “Sixtacular” array of promotions and special events throughout the month of August.
“FireKeepers Casino Hotel started out as a dream of the members of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi tribe”, states FireKeepers Casino Hotel President Bruce McKee, “and now, six years later, it is an award-winning casino resort that is able to give back to the tribal community, the State of Michigan, local communities and has created jobs for over 1,650 team members.
In 2015, FireKeepers Casino Hotel and the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi reached a milestone in local and state contributions. The total amount given to the Local and State Revenue Sharing Boards now exceed $100 million since FireKeepers Casino Hotel opening in August 2009. FireKeepers payroll has also reached a milestone this year, with total payroll contributions to the local workforce exceeding $275 million.
FireKeepers Casino Hotel has also won multiple awards so far this year. Just recently, in WWMT-Channel 3’s Best of West Michigan viewer’s vote, FireKeepers took the top prize of Best Casino in West Michigan. Our signature restaurant, Nibi, has also been awarded Best Seafood by CasinoPlayer magazine and the coveted Wine Spectator Award of Excellence.
FireKeepers Casino Hotel, in just over two years of operation, has been named a Four Diamond Hotel by AAA, one of the hospitality industry’s premier honors. The 243 room hotel, featuring 26 suites, earns an achievement that ranks FireKeepers as a premier establishment, esteemed by AAA’s professional inspectors.
