FIREKEEPERS CASINO HOTEL CELEBRATES THE OPENING OF DACEY’S TAPHOUSE
(Battle Creek, MI.) Dec. 22, 2016 – FireKeepers Casino Hotel executive staff, leaders of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, former professional athletes, political officials, members of the media and key Michigan business partners gathered today to celebrate the Grand Opening of Dacey’s Taphouse, FireKeepers’ signature new attraction offering 52 tap handles for the finest craft beers from top Michigan and national breweries.
The opening ceremony featured speeches from FireKeepers leadership, a traditional ribbon-cutting and a ceremonial keg tapping. Attendees included Detroit Pistons “Bad Boy”, Rick Mahorn, Detroit Red Wings favorite, Darren McCarty, and Eddie Murray, who is 18th on the NFL’s all-time scoring list. The Taphouse features a rustic atmosphere, with contemporary features, highlighted by a delectable menu of upscale bar favorites and chef-recommended beer pairings. The floor to ceiling space opens to the casino floor and comfortably seats 175.

The public opening of Dacey’s Taphouse takes place on December 23 at 5 p.m. Guests in line for the opening will be able to enter for the chance to win the first draft beer and receive a special commemorative mug. The Taphouse will be open from 5 p.m. – 11 p.m. Mondays - Thursdays, 5 p.m. – 2 a.m. on Fridays, 11 a.m. – 2 a.m. on Saturdays and from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Sundays. With a separate exterior entrance, the Taphouse is easy to locate, as guests will quickly identify the 18 foot barrel from most locations on the gaming floor. Based on the size of the decorative barrel, it would hold over 107,000 sixteen ounce glasses if actually filled with beer. The bar has seating on its main floor and a mezzanine that is perfect for private parties and VIP events. Almost 33 tons of steel went into the robust construction of Dacey’s Taphouse, under the direction of Moore Trosper Construction Company of Holt, Michigan and the mainly local workforce logged over 14,500 hours on the project.
FireKeepers Casino Hotel is located just off Interstate 94 at Exit 104 in Battle Creek, Mich.
