FIREKEEPERS CASINO HOTEL ARCHITECT NAMED WOMEN BUILDERS COUNCIL’S OUTSTANDING WOMEN OF 2015
(Battle Creek, Mich.) FireKeepers Casino Hotel is proud to announce that Angela O'Byrne was recently selected as one of the Women Builders Council's Outstanding Women of 2015. O’Byrne was a key architect on the team that designed FireKeepers Casino in 2009. She is president of the international design firm Perez, and is a passionate advocate for women in architecture and construction. O’Bryne has worked with numerous professional organizations, including FireKeepers Casino Hotel, dedicated to the advancement of women in the industry.
“O’Bryne is a great asset to society and FireKeepers is proud to have had her as one of our lead architects,” states Homer A. Mandoka Tribal Council Chairman of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi. “She is active in a number of civic, industry, and trade associations including the Women’s Professional Council, Commercial Real Estate Women, American Institute of Architects and the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute.”
In addition to her career achievements, O’Byrne has been actively involved in her community. She has volunteered at a variety of organizations including Start the Adventure in Reading, an organization that teaches failing inner city children to read, and chairing on CANstruction, an organization that benefits Second Harvesters Food Bank. In 2014, Angela received the Runner Up Woman in Business Award from Small business Association Louisiana, and in 2013, Perez was named the SBA Louisiana District Women-Owned Business of the Year.
