Haggard, along with fellow country music legend Willie Nelson, continue to enjoy robust contemporary success, as their recently-released duets album, Django and Jimmie, has debuted at Number One on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and in the Number Seven spot on the all-genre Billboard 200. The album's title is a reference to Haggard’s and Nelson’s heroes — jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt and one of country's first stars, Jimmie Rodgers.
Haggard has rocked the country stage for more than 50 years with hits like, “Sing me Back Home”, “Branded Man”, “I’m a Lonesome Fugitive”, and “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink”. Audiences from around the world have embraced and love his music. Of his hundreds of hit songs, more than 40 have made it to number one on the country charts and many more in the top ten.
Throughout his career Haggard has written and performed personal songs that speak to the everyday working man. He has performed political songs such as, "Fightin' Side of Me," and “Working Man Blues”. As well as songs with a touch of humor such as “Okie From Muskogee”. He can also preformed happier songs such as, “Daddy Frank ( The Guitar Man) in 1971 and “Grandma Harp” in 1972. Haggard has won many country awards over his long career, including being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1994.
