The Charlie Daniels Band to Perform Classic Country Hits at FireKeepers Casino Hotel on April 8

Charlie Daniels has left his mark on the music industry for over 40 years with classics hits like, “Long Haired Country Boy”, “In America”, and his signature song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”, which won the Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1979.
After getting his start in Nashville in 1967, Daniels released his first self-title album in 1970, just two years later he formed the Charlie Daniels Band and started writing hit song after hit song. It was his first album with the Charlie Daniels Band that they gained their first top ten hit with the song,“ Uneasy Rider”. He went on to release many successful albums with the Charlie Daniels Band including their most recent album titled, “Off The Grid- Doin’ It Dylan”, which features ten Bob Dylan songs that were written by the band.
Daniels also released several specialty solo albums throughout his career including his first Christian Country Album titled, “ The Door”, which won several awards. He also released a children’s album in 1997 titled, “ By the Light of the Moon: Campfire Songs and Cowboy Tunes.” Daniels then went on to form his own record label with his personal manager David Corlew called Blue Hat Records. This record label produced memorable albums such as, “ Road Dogs”, “Deuces”, and Fiddle Fire: 25 Years of the Charlie Daniels Band.

Daniels is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, Musicians Hall of Fame, and has a star on the Music City Walk of Fame. He has used his fame to assist in charity work all across the country. Some of his most beloved charities include, The Volunteer Jam, Yellow Ribbon Program, Jason Foundation, Galilean Children’s Home, The Angelus, St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and the TJ Martell Foundation.
