Some of the many benefits of being a FireKeepers team member include career development and leadership training programs. FireKeepers makes it a point to help team members reach their professional goals through a wealth of leadership training and educational initiatives to maximize career development; this is done through interactive management training, online class work and mentorship programs. FireKeepers also offers financial support for work-related college courses and degree programs.

This past week, members of the FireKeepers management team presented what is known as LEAD Management Innovation. During this event Vice Presidents and upper management staff members present on various topics for FireKeepers team members. This year, some of those topics included the history of Las Vegas and slot machines, investing in your future and how performance impacts the bottom line, bridging the generation gap, and dealing difficult people, among many others.

This year’s Key Note Speaker was CEO, Brian Decorah, whose session was entitled, “Making An Impact.” Brian spoke on ways to improve presentation skills, proper dialogue in the work place, and how to run an effective meeting. Brian also invited some familiar faces to join him on the stage. WWMT Channel 3 morning news anchor, Kate Tillotson and Meteorologist Keith Thompson joined with Brian for an open panel discussion on workplace leadership and communication.

John U. Bacon was the Featured Presenter. John delivers speeches to corporations, universities, and other groups both nationally and abroad. He is a Best-Selling Author, a freelance journalist and professor at Northwestern University and the University of Michigan. John spoke to the FireKeepers Team on n three main themes: 1) Leadership (from "Bo's Lasting Lessons"), 2) Creativity (from "The Spark," which explains how Cirque du Soleil generates creativity in the work place), 3) Generation Z, How to Manage and Motivate The 20-somethings, and 4) Diversity.

Tying everything together was the vendor fair, where local business owners were offered an exclusive opportunity to showcase their offerings for all FireKeepers  team members. Team members were also entered into drawings for goods and services provided by these businesses.
