FireKeepers Casino Hotel, and its owners, the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, today celebrated expansion progress in multiple exciting ways. Construction on a second hotel tower reached the Topping Off point and was recognized with a traditional tribal ceremony. Moments later, officials moved inside the casino and cut a ribbon to mark the Grand Opening of Dacey’s Sportsbook, the first tribally-owned casino sportsbook to open in Michigan.

Examines 10-Year Social and Economic Impact
(Battle Creek, MI) May 21, 2020 – In December 2019, the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board received the Socioeconomic Indicators and Economic Impact Analysis of FireKeepers Casino and Hotel. The Board engaged the Upjohn Institute for Employment Research in Kalamazoo to complete this study in accordance with a long-standing commitment. The promise was to update the economic and social indicators within Calhoun County identified in an initial 2008 Upjohn Study as possibly being impacted by the development of the FireKeepers Casino and Hotel.

February 26, 2019 — The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP), owners of FireKeepers Casino Hotel in Battle Creek, today announced that combined lifetime revenue sharing payments to the State of Michigan and the Local Revenue Sharing Board have exceeded $217 million! The continued operating excellence of the property led to its fifth consecutive new annual contribution record, with combined payments of over $24.7 million to the State of Michigan and the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board (FLRSB).

On Jan. 8, Human Trafficking Awareness Day, FireKeepers Vice President of Security and Surveillance George Jenkot, along with FireKeepers Security Training and Special Events Manager Joe Donato presented Michigan legislators with their training and methods on Human Trafficking awareness. The presentation was part of a full day of events designed bring attention to the horrors of Human Trafficking.

(Battle Creek, MI.) Nov. 22, 2019 - FireKeepers Casino Hotel is pleased to announce their annual donation of 2,500 turkeys has been made to five area food banks, as well as The Kendall Street Pantry in Battle Creek, to help those less fortunate enjoy a traditional meal this holiday season.
For the tenth consecutive year, FireKeepers Casino Hotel has generously provided turkeys to five area food banks prior to the start of the holiday season. In 2017, the company raised the bar by providing an additional 1,500 turkeys for the Battle Creek area, bringing the total number of turkeys donated to 2,500. Since opening, FireKeepers Casino Hotel has made it a point to contribute to area food banks and many community organizations not only during the holiday season, but throughout the year. This also includes distributions to the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board (FLRSB), distributions to the state of Michigan, as well as focusing business operations on local spending.

Looking ahead, The Kendall Street Pantry will receive a donation of 200 turkeys on December 16 to prepare for donations during the Christmas period. This pantry is part of The Fire Hub Restaurant, which was built and operated by a non-profit division of Firekeepers Casino Hotel and from which the bulk of profits are contributed annually to local charities.
